The Microfilm Archives of the German Language Press (MFA) takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. We therefore treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the legal data protection regulations and this data protection declaration.

1. Data security

The webpage www.mfa-dortmund.de is not encrypted. We would like to point out that data transmission on the Internet can have security flaws. A complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible. For example, if you write to the e-mail address of the office, complete transmission security cannot be guaranteed. We are unable to offer content encryption of documents using the usual open transmission channels.

2. Personal data

The webpage www.mfa-dortmund.de can be used without providing personal data. The Microfilm Archives of the German Language Press (MFA) does not process, collect, or gather personal data from website users. The IP addresses of visitors are made anonymous. The pages do not use website trackers, social-media plug-ins, or cookies.

3. Server logfile

The websites of The Microfilm Archives of the German Language Press (MFA) are hosted by the provider Hosteurope. The provider collects and stores information that your browser automatically transmits. When you access our website, information is automatically transmitted by your browser to the server of our website. This information is temporarily stored in a so-called log file and is automatically deleted. This includes the following data:

4. Membership in The Microfilm Archives of the German Language Press (MFA)

In order to ensure the administration and support of its members, The Microfilm Archives of the German Language Press (MFA) collects, processes, and uses the following data of its members on the basis of Art. 6 (1) b and Art. 6 (1) f of the German Data Protection Act (DSGVO): surname, first name, (business) address, telephone and fax number, e-mail address, club-related data (e.g. date of registration, etc.).

These data are voluntarily transmitted to The Microfilm Archives of the German Language Press (MFA) by the respective member.

The personal data is collected, processed, and used exclusively for the announcement, organization, and handling of events (general meetings, conferences, etc.) on the basis of Art. 6 (1) b and 1 f DSGVO.

With your consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) f DSGVO, The Microfilm Archives of the German Language Press (MFA) can send or hand over your data to all participants of an event. This consent can be revoked at any time.

After the end of the legal retention period, the data will be deleted or destroyed by The Microfilm Archives of the German Language Press (MFA).

5. Transfer of data

The Microfilm Archives of the German Language Press (MFA) will not share your data with any third party.

6. Rights of the data subjects

You have

  • the right of access to personal data in accordance withArt. 15 DSGVO ,
  • the right to correct your data according to Art. 16 DSGVO,
  • the right to have your data deleted ("right to be forgotten") in accordance with Art. 17 DSGVO,

  • the right to object according to Art. 21 DSGVO,
  • the right to revoke its consent granted under Art. 6 (1)f General data protection regulation (GDPR) at any time in accordance with Art. 7 Abs. 3 DSGVO,
  • the right to complain to supervisory authorities if you believe that the processing of personal data concerning you is in breach of the basic data protection regulation.
